Accommodation

Our cosy private eco-cabin is tucked in a secluded position amongst limestone rocks beside regenerating native bush and the Waipara River. There is 5 minute walk to the hut down a steep bush track.

This is your chance to unplug from devices, talk, relax and recharge.

New for Spring 2024 is our wood fired sauna. This is a short walk from the hut.

The space

The Hut is well insulated with wool in the ceiling/floor and straw in the walls. The windows are double glazed and the small woodburner heats the space quickly.

The 13m2 hut is our take on a DOC cabin – but is constructed of natural materials – including Clay, Lime, Straw, Wool and Timber. The beautiful floor is of red beech, the ceiling is rough sawn cedar and the interior walls are finished in earthen and lime plasters.

The cabin is off-grid with solar power for lights/usb port. There is no wifi or cell coverage at the hut.

The King Sized bed is a natural latex/wool mattress with wool duvet. A skylight over the bed allows star gazing.

An outside kitchenette on the front porch has a BBQ, gas ring, sink, pots/pans and a chiller.
Crockery, Cutlery, Ceramic Water Filter, Teapot and stovetop Espresso all in the hut. There are the basic items such as salt, pepper, oil, tea bags/herb teas/coffee.

The Kakapo composting toilet and outside shower are a short walk up a set of stairs.
