  Wow what a place to relax and break from the world. The views, house, river, sunrises, isolation, design, digital detox….(i could go on)… everything was amazing. We are both from… read more farms and returning to North Canterbury for a couple of nights was like returning to our childhood. We met friends for a birthday lunch at Pegaus bay (10min drive), enjoyed great wine and hospitality at the Boneline winery (4min drive) and a sneaky beer/cider at Brew Moon in Amberley on the way to Broomfield. Its all so close. We left the weekend feeling recharged, rested and reset. Francois & Kate, you’ve done a fablous job. I reckon if you build some more of these they will be popular (and you’ll give the nearby glass boxes a run for the money).

… read more /> The river location was very tranquil and so much to do nearby. We would recommend the iron quarry sculptures, the winery’s (e.g the bone line) and the rusty fiddle cafe and sunflower garden. Such a fantastic getaway.

The Hamper was a MUST do. We enjoyed the provided food so much. Everything was beautifully presented and well seasoned. So many detailed touches. All the home grown veges etc, made for such a wholesome meal. Just wow!

  It was an incredible experience. Staying for over a week, I found solitude surrounded by nature. The Limehut was cozy, bright, and warm. Surprisingly, the compost toilet had a pleasant… read more wooden scent. The outdoor shower, with its powerful hot water, gave me a sense of freedom and liberation. The wood-fired sauna on a rainy day was truly romantic. Feel the quiet yet powerful ancient force of the Waipara River. Highly highly recommended.

The Lime Hut itself was small but incredibly comfortable and we had a wonderful time cooking in the outdoor kitchen. Very much recommend getting the food hamper. The meals were incredible and we felt so pampered for our entire stay.

The hut is a small hike down the hill, but if you follow the instructions and keep your eyes open. Its very easy to find.
